1100 DL Amsterdam

The Johan Cruijff ArenA is the home of the football club Ajax. The stadium is also used by the Dutch National Team for international matches. The Congress Center is located next to the stadium with rooms overlooking the pitch. The ArenA offers an inspiring and dynamic environment for the congress. All the rooms are named after cities where Ajax has played important finals in the past. For example Wenen ’95 -Champions League- and Amsterdam ’92 -UEFA Cup-.

The Johan Cruijff ArenA was opened by former Queen Beatrix on 14 August 1996.The ArenA was the first stadium in Europe with a sliding roof. It takes 18 minutes to open or close the roof. Next to football matches, also a lot of other events have taken place in the ArenA. The first pop artist to perform in the Johan Cruijff ArenA was Tina Turner on 6 September 1996. Also Celine Dion, Michael Jackson and The Rolling Stones have performed here.
